Burpee Mile

Has anyone actually done this workout?

Burpee Mile
Cover 1 mile using burpees only. You may jump forward as far as you want for each burpee, but you may not walk forward at any point.
(Source: Shane Skowron)

It's one of the workouts in the Comprehensive Bodyweight Workout List.

I'm going to attempt it this morning, but have no idea how ling it's going to take.

Re: Burpee Mile

Have fun with that Kevin. Who's taking over the gym in case you don't make it back?

Re: Burpee Mile

Guy from TSQ forums sent me this message:

Let me know when you're going to post this one. Did this today as a morning workout. No weight and went slow. Was only able to do it in 1:39. Total of 770 burpees.
Chris

Haven't done this one myself yet. Eventually...

Re: Burpee Mile

I have another guy from the gym doing it with me. My long jsut is about 2.25m, so I was thinking just under 800 burpees.

T-minus 30 minutes...

Re: Burpee Mile

I've thought about programming this, but would need some heavy duty gloves to do it in my neighborhood, I think.

Re: Burpee Mile

Well that was fun...

The good new is - I'm still alive.

The bad news - my hands are ripped up.

I managed to complete the full mile in 1:21:14 (about 680-700 burpees in total). My buddy Pierre finished in 1:22:16. We placed water bottles throughout the route to stay hydrated. Got A LOT of strange looks...we did it on a busy street in Moncton.

Advice to anyone daring enough to try this...wear HEAVY glove. I had crappy little gardening gloves and they didn't hold up too well.

This is definitely something you do once, and only once.
