Heavy Grip vs Captain of Crush

I'm looking into getting some hand grippers, through my searching on here I haven't seen anything about the Heavy Grip grippers, only COC. I notice that Heavy Gripper is a little cheaper. Anyone use it? As good as COC?

Re: Heavy Grip vs Captain of Crush

Heavy Grip have a much lower level of consistency strength wise when compared to the COC Grippers. From what I have read also they have a much lower seasoning (i.e. the spring will weaken alot sooner the more the gripper is fully closed) than the COC grippers.

That being said though, the Heavy Grips are worthwhile if all you want to to is strengthen your grip. If you are interested in getting certified as a COC, then you should be using the COC grippers.

Yours,
Beev

IMHO spend the extra few dollars and get the cocs. I have seen some really bad reviews in the past on the heavy grips. Also with the cocs if you get bored of them you can put them on ebay and get most of your money back.

Re: Heavy Grip vs Captain of Crush

I own just about every gripper known to man and can speak very highly of the CoC grippers - consistancy and quality are top notch. Heavy Grips grippers are okay, but the quality control is poor. Imo, the top three manufactures of grippers are (in no particular order):

-Capt of Crush (benchmark over the years)
-Robert Baraban (His brass handled grippers are beautiful)
-Warren Tetting (Thor brand grippers - he also makes the Mash Monster grippers - Heck of a guy too)

I'm about to order the COC Trainer and #1. I hope I can close one of them.

No worries. That is crazy looking and cool looking at the sametime. I wouldn't mind getting one of those to work with. I'm going to check out the prices of it compared to the COCs. I'm on the verge of buying them. If the prices aren't much different I may opt for the Vulcan. (I see it's one piece and the adjustments listed on the page. Is it pretty strong as in it'll last for quite awhile with a lot of gripping work?)

Michael

EDIT: Who is David and how do I reach him? (Eh, I guess on that site.. Is he here on CFBs?)

Here is a great video of David showing off the Vulcan.

It actually looks and sounds quite solid. I'm going to contact him and see how much shipping will be to the states.

I'll keep you all informed.

Michael
