Post Zone Diet Spreadsheet

Hey guys. I've been doing CrossFit for about 6 weeks now and my buddy turned me on to the Zone Diet a few weeks ago. I decided to create a spreadsheet to make building/planning meals a bit more managable. I've shared it with a few people and they seem to be pretty pleased with it so far. The same friend suggested I shared it with the community and it seems only fair after all I've gotten from CrossFit for free. So here you have it!

A little explanation:

• Orange cells are input cells... these are the only cells you need to touch

• The first sheet is for body stats… enter your body measurements from a body fat caliper and your weight and it will calculate body fat %

• Daily Diet sheet is to plan out an entire day’s meals… for each meal, choose up to 4 food items per category (proteins, fats, etc.) and enter how many blocks you want of each item… it will tell you the amount of food you need for that many blocks and a total for the meal… it also gives you a total for the day at the bottom

• 4 pages are setup to store various block sized meals… so you could build up a database of different size meals and easily plan out a day… I have a few of my actual meals in there as examples

• Last page is the food list… you can add to it easily by clicking the big blue button (make sure you have macros enabled in Excel for this to work)

I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have to improve the spreadsheet. It's still a work in progress and I do have a few ideas to improve it already but my free time is fairly limited. Enjoy!

Nate

Re: Zone Diet Spreadsheet

Hey man, on your spread sheet (very cool BTW) how are you doing your measurements for Peck, lower and upper back?

I take it you are not going the whole way around the chest.

Thanks...

Re: Zone Diet Spreadsheet

Nathan you read my mind. Thanks you so much and it's going right in my BBerry.

I was trying to do something similar but couldn't wrap my mind around the coding.

My only suggestion would be to have it compile all of your proteins, carbs and fats to make a shopping list.

Re: Zone Diet Spreadsheet

Thanks guys! Glad you like it.

William, great idea about the shopping list! I'll start giving some thought as to how I can work that in.

Any other suggestions or comments are appreciated!

Re: Zone Diet Spreadsheet

Solid Job Nathan! It sure makes it alot easier for the zoners! I was lucky enough to come by a fantastic speadsheet when I first started on the zone awhile back. Go to www.crossfitwarehouse.com (WFS) Top right under operation pheonix there is a zone block calculator aswell that will blow your mind!
