Post-workout/game carbs ???
I read "The Zone", and have been following the diet for the last 3 months. I recall Dr. Sears saying that his athletes never carbed up before competition, and that they always used the 40-30-30 combo with better results.
I play soccer, and am wondering about what I should do post training, or after a game. I usually drink 2-4 scoops of Twinlab Ultra Fuel (50-100 grams of carbs) after I play in order to replenish the glycogen I lost during the game. Should I be taking all these carbs in post game, or should I stick to a regular Zone meal ?? |

Re: Post-workout/game carbs ???
Robb Wolf suggests eating half of your day's carb blocks immediately post workout (with the fat removed, and spread out across your other meals). I have been doing this for quite some time and have noticed a substantial increase in daily recovery.

Zone has you carb loading all day long every day....hence why you can perform when needed. It's not a real low carb diet, just low calorie.
