Scheiner's Funtasmic New Hybrid Log!

Starting a new log tonight, because I wanted to get more organized and have a fresh start. I've been doing the hybrid semi strictly for a couple of weeks now, but I want to keep track of it over a 12 week period with specific goals that will be mention in my next post.

Listed in no particular order, the numbers in parenthesis are my current numbers

Strength
Back squat-350(315)
Press-165(150)
Deadlift-450(415)
Bench Press-body weight x 10(5 well rested)
Clean and Jerk-225(175, but very old)
Snatch 135 with flawless form(130 with terrible form)
Front Squat-275(240)
OHS-body weight(155)
Power clean-225(195)
Weighted pull-up-120(105)



Metcon
Fran-sub 4 minutes(4:40)
Cindy-over 20(18+, but that's old)
Mini Cindy in 10 min-14(11+change)
Elizabeth-sub 10(13 min, but over 4 months old)
Helen-sub 9(9:58 with C2B pull-ups)
row 5k-sub 19min (19:07)
row 2k-6:30min (7:03)
row 500 meters-1:25 min(1:29, but haven't done this in a while)
run 5k-sub 20 min (22:07)
run 800 meters-3:00min flat(3:12)
run 400 meters-60 seconds flat(1:10?)

Gymnastics
Pull-ups-40(37, when we get a good pull-up bar I WILL get this one)
Handstand Push ups on parallettes -5(2 on a very good day)
Freestanding handstand hold-30 seonds (17 seconds)
Freestanding handstand walks-10 steps(4)
Ring Muscle ups-10(4)
Bar Muscle up-1(Have never really tried it, but I want to get better at these than ring muscle ups)
Pistols-1!(o)
Front lever hold-5 seconds(3 seconds, it went away very quickly after I took a week off)
Back lever-5 seconds
Iron cross-A long way away, but it is a goal

Wish I could, but I can't. I'm doing our annual family Turkey trot in the Philly suburbs.

Warm-up

Practice handstand
freestanding hold: 10 seconds
Need to practice this more

then:
Front Squat 3x1 mid heavy singles
225 for all sets

then:
WOD
3 rounds for time
400m run + 15 pull-ups(to clavicle)+ 21 push-ups

time: 8:45

Slow on the runs and for some reason the push-ups were hard. I think it was from push presses on Tuesday. Pull-ups unbroken.

Time of workout: 1pm

Warm-up

3x muscle-up+L sit+skin the cat combos

then:

These felt the best they have ever felt today, very natural. The new starting position I learned from the Greg Everett Oly lifting book has made a huge difference. Depending on how I feel next week I might try to add on weight and see what really happens.

then:
WOD
5-4-3-2-1
275lbs deadlift + 135lbs thruster + burpee pull-up

time: 6:36
No breaks, but I did feel slow on the thrusters and burpees. Deadlifts felt perfect almost easy.

Overall note: Good day, I'm excited about my snatch form improving. It's actuall fun once you get good at it. Looking forward to the next 2 rest days.

Rest day.

Went to the Penn State vs Temple game, had lots of fun, ate lots of food (none of it was good for me but it was delicious) and was around great friends and soon to be family. What more could I ask for?

Sunday, August 21st, 2008

Rest day

Home from State College. Well rested, overfed, and glad to be home(but I will miss all of the Penn State girls.)

Here is the greatest sandwich I have ever had at 2 am on a Saturday:
"Fat *****"
Chicken Fingers
Cheese steak with cheese wiz
Mozzarella sticks
french fries
ketchup annnnnnnnd mayo
all in one.

It was delicious, but I can't wait to get back on track tomorrow. Might do a strict zone for a couple of days or I might just hold off on the gallon of milk a day instead.
