Gas prices

I searched for a gas price thread but couldn't find one.

I am considering doing most of crossfit wods at my apartment.

One reason is to try to save some bucks on gas and the other is that the local globo was packed last night. On another note this globo does not have one single flat pullup bar. It has all the stands with the different grip configurations.

Anyone else changing training habits to save some mula?

Re: Gas prices

I ride my bike to the gym (2 miles each way). It saves on gas, kinda works as a partial warm-up/cool down, and also gives me a chance to spend some time outdoors, even if i am in the city.

Re: Gas prices

That's pretty good mileage but my rocky mountain gets me about 80 miles to the sandwich

Re: Gas prices

Not so much the sandwich as it is the engine refuses to recognize when it's out of gas... has some sick need to keep going.

Re: Gas prices

No offence intended towards Americans in any way, but I just cant understand why you are all so uptight about petrol prices over there, its about $4US per galon right?, that still means its only a little over $1 per litre.

In Australia its hovering between 1.50-1.60 per litre mark where I am for petrol, then around the 1.80 per litre for diesel.

Put it in perspective, AU5.50 per galon petrol, and AU$6.60 odd per galon of diesel. (at the moment AU$1 = about US$0.95, so it's pretty accurate)

Comparitively your fuel very cheap. There are some trucking companies my dad knows which are spending $75000 on diesel per day now, its just insane.

Not trying to open a can of worms, just trying to let you see that the price of fuel is much worse elsewhere.

Re: Gas prices

Same in Canada, we're at 1.37/L in Kelowna here, haven't been below 1.25 for the last couple years.

Re: Gas prices

Snagged a women's road bike from one of our members. All of the road cyclists make fun of me with the padded seat. Not only am I saving on gas, but the comfort of the seat is unparalleled.

Re: Gas prices

1. Get a diesel car.
2. Ask McDonald's for its used fry grease.
3. Filter the grease.
4. Put grease in the diesel gas tank.
5. Drive.
