Jon -
As I said above - "DA#N YOU, LEGS!"

At 5'5", my inseam is about the same as my jab length. I hate me.

I've got a 5k marked out from my house. Going to hit it right now. Kind of hilly, but hey, so's life.

Re: CrossFit Boston VS CrossFit Fredericton!

5K in 24:16.
Estimated strides? 4,755,238. Half way in 11:45, but that's at the bottom of a long gentle slope. Coming back is a mile of up - I hate that.
1 mile - 7:25;
2 mile - 7:42;
3 mile - 8:10 (waaahhhhh!);
That last .1 - 0:57 (blech).

Unless someone used crutches, I anticipate I will be at the back of the pack.
BJJ tonight.

I bet you're about a 16. Just ask at the local department store...I'm sure they'll help...

Best,

Jon

You realize, of course, that pics of the public shaming will be required.

Lots.

The world is watching.

Re: CrossFit Boston VS CrossFit Fredericton!

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - Day 2

Anthony BW=180, Run 5km, 35:33
Jodi BW=104, Run 5km, 33:53

We definitely lost this one. But, to put it in perspective, a friend who runs a sub 20 min 5km finished just over 28 min. The trail was through the woods, lots of hills, temperature was 35C/95F ... it wasn't much fun at all.

My endurance felt fine, but my calves seized up on me with some wicked charlie horses and I had to walk close to half the distance. I think it's time to replace my 10 year old cross trainers.

Re: CrossFit Boston VS CrossFit Fredericton!

Geez, Anthony. That doesn't sound like much fun at all. We had a wide, flat, dry track, where the only impediment was underperforming middle school kids. I guess you take the points where you can get them...

Jon: 23:30
Sam: 27:18

Anthony & Jodi: 5
Jon & Sam: 7

Re: CrossFit Boston VS CrossFit Fredericton!

Hey, boys and girls - how will today's MetCon ("Nicole") be scored? It's as many rds of 400m run and max rep pullups in 20 minutes. What if you get 6 rds, but more pullups, and the other guy has 7 rds, but less pullups, etc.? This one seems problematic for deciding exactly who finished first. Total pullups and total distance added together won't work because of the numbers (400 makes the pullup numbers insignificant). Maybe convert each 400 completed into some base number, like maybe 20 or 15 - takes away the incentive to blow off the pullups and just do as many 400's as possible?

Re: CrossFit Boston VS CrossFit Fredericton!

Yeah, I saw that on the site and was like.. what if your max pullups is like 5 while someone else can do 30. That's much more time for the runs and pullups for the guy whos max is lower.

The best way to do it is just set an arbitrary number of pullups like 25 for each round or something of that nature. Mark out every 100m on the 400m area in case there's a tie during the runs.

I'm having fun just following this post so keep it up guys.
