two new signs appeared at the gym today on neon green A4 paper:

A 55kg girl lifting 60kg is NOT safe
Please put the weights back after using them

there aren't any other girls that lift above 40kg let alone 55kg girls that above 40kg. guess that means me...

has anyone had problems like that - gyms hinting to you or staff telling you?

Ok..That is funny that they post signs on neon green paper. I guess they are not ones for confrontation?

But more importantly, why didn't you return the weights :-)

matthew, with form as perfect as i can manage everytime? shortly after joining my old gym 2 years ago, each trainer came up to me asking me where i learnt all these lifts because my form was very good.. so i don't think it's my form. furthermore, i've seen horrifying things going on at this current gym.

catherine, yeah perhaps lol. the only other signs on neon paper (yellow) are signs asking people to return their weights. and i do return the weights always! other people don't!

Off base, I've heard "No, we really don't like people taking weights outside the weight room. Why are you using the rowing machine and the barbell, anyway?"

A guy that works on base saw some folks in the aftermath of a Fight Gone Bad and asked, "Why is barbell in here?"

During a PT leader class I heard an instructor say "I don't know what those people that lift those weights so fast and so many times think they are doing, it's not going to help one bit." Funny thing is, this is the guy that has stared at me while I was doing Fran, Helen, and Nancy. Later on he couldn't believe that I ran multiple 400m's at 1:30ish.

People are intimidated, and ignorant when they post such childish things. Better off just going to the desk if the continue to post away like that and ask them if there is a problem.

Most neanderthal trainers will drag their knuckles and tell you that the vinyl coated db's are not located near the squat rack. Some guys/gals can and have lifted better than the staff at the gyms I've frequented and the staff are all up in arms when they see someone with better form and technique.

Keep up the good work.
