I recently moved to San Diego and I am trying to find a gym that has bumper plates and will let me do olympic lifts. I am looking for a place as close to me as possible, I live in the UTC area, 92122 area code. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Cost is an issue also since I still haven't found a job :oP If there are no places that come close to that then any CF friendly gym recomendations would be welcome as well. (Oh and if possible a place without any long contracts because I want to switch to the CFSD facility once it opens up)

Thank you

Try contacting Coach Bergener at Mikes Gym. His web site is on the crossfit front page. He will know if there are anything available to you closer than his gym.

Andrew,
Try contacting Charlie Reid. He has posted here. I'll try to find his email and forward it to you. He is down in your area.

I'm confused... Isn't Brand X a crossfit gym? Why not just go there?

Hi, Dan. I work in the UTC area and live in Ramona. On a good day it takes 45 minutes to get from point A to point B, and on a bad day, 90.

Of course, I have to make the trip 5 days a week, just to get home, but some days I have to leave work at 4pm to make classes at BX. Lots of people DO drive that distance and more to come to classes, and then turn around and go back "down the hill".

I think Andrew was at Painstorm III, though, so it could be we scared him off. ;)

I understand. It takes me 45 minutes to drive to my chiropractor, who is located 5.5 miles from my house.

Ah, City living.

As scary as painstorm was I still can't wait for the next one! Brand-X is great but it is just too far away. I can't spend an hour and a half in a car on a daily basis. Not to mention $2.60/gallon gas prices.

Thank you for your input everyone, I will try droping Mike and Charlie a line and see if they have any suggestions.
