Just wanted to let everyone know about the next Chicago CrossFit meeting. Going with Ryan's idea of different theme workouts it is time for some Gymnastics!!
I will post some of the equipment at the facility as soon as I get it. Aimee,gymnastics coordinator, will be on hand to help us with the equipment and give us advise on proper form and technique. Date: Sat. 8/27/05 Time: 9:00AM - 12:00PM Fee: 5.00 to help cover the facility rental (I wish this could be free like the other workouts but I think the price is not too cost prohibitive for most. If it is for some reason let me know, we can work something out) Place: Buehler YMCA 1400 W. This sounds great.
I already sent Dave an e-mail about this, but thought I'd post it here as well. Does anyone own a copy of Gymnastics and Tumbling that they can bring along to this event? It will give a lot of good ideas for things we can try outside of the workout for that day. I have the electronic copy and will print out the pages with the stick figures, if necessary. Ryan |

Some info from Aimee the YMCA gymnastics director about the facility.
Our gymnastics room has one set of ceiling mounted rings, 3 sets of bars, one set of paralell bars (can bring in second set if needed) two 30 foot climbing ropes (unknotted). We have about 20 medicine balls of various weights. |

Hey all
just glad to see there's a ChiXFit and hopeing it grows to into a training center-based program somehow. I'm here in downtown and don't get to the Sat sessions cause I work Sat am's from 9-12. Keep up the good work Tim |

SOrry you can't make it Tim! Are you free for the CrossFight at CrossFit Racine this weekend?
There will be more events, hope to see you at one of them. BTW where do you train downtown?? |

I train mostly at Multiplex on Clark near Division... a fairly XFit friendly gym..(they are very "functional" in their personal training approach. I've seen that Y's Gymnastic room..nice... man I'd have my kid in that program in a second. But....I'm locked pretty tightly into my Sat AM hours. We'll catch up sooner or later Tim |

We'll see what we can do about an Sat or Sun afternoon WOD. You are in the same boat as many with weekend mornings booked up. I train at Phenominal Fitness on South Michigan. Great place; KB, bumpers, reverse hyper and glute ham, jumpstretch bands and chains. Easy access form work. |

Dave,
Since I won't be flying out to Colorado for a horse race held on that day (friend's horse did not make the finals) and if things don't turn sour on my end, I might actually be able to make it! |
