Just had some lab tests done, here are the results for posterity:

Cholesterol: 141 (reference is 50-200mg/dl)
Triglycerides: 17 (reference is 50-150mg/dl)
HDL: 65 (reference >40mg/dl)
LDL: 73 (ref 0-100mg/dl)
LDL:HDL 1.1 (ref 0.0-3.0)

Glucose: 95 (reference is 70-105mg/dl)

Homocysteine: 4.6 (ref 4.3-11.4nmol/ml)
Cardiac CRP: <0.20 (ref <5.0mg/L)

TSH: 0.1 (ref 0.27-4.2mIU/ml)
Free T4: 2.37 (ref 0.81-1.7ng/dl)

Everything looks great except the thyroid markers, and I will be adjusting my replacement dosage accordingly. I think that the hyperthyroid condition probably influenced the cholesterol readings, making them lower/better.

This is with following the WOD and eating Paleo + IF + a loose Zone.

Those labs (the lipid profile and inflamation markers)are better than anything the average food pyramid eating American could get, no matter how many high priced drugs they were put on.

Those are impressive results! Do you have any comparison from before you switched to your current diet? I would be curious to see the difference and to know what your diet was like during the "before" labs. Another testimonial for the great advice on this site. Thanks for sharing.

I do have some tests from 18 months ago. I will post them later - they are at home right now.

For the results above, my diet was pretty much the following, almost every day, with 2 or 3 cheat meals per week:

11:30 - 5 oz chicken, 1-2 oz lard, 1 medium Yam
12:00 - 1 15 oz can of salmon (bones and all), 3 medium apples, 2-3 cups mixed greens
4:00 - 24g whey protein shake, 2-3 Tbsp olive oil (drinking straight from the bottle), 1 med. apple. (Great pre-workout meal)
Before 8:00 - Any of the following:
1) 5 oz chicken, 1-2 oz lard, 1 medium Yam
2) 4 oz chicken, 3 eggs, 3 pcs Bacon, 2-3 apples
3) 5 oz liver, 3 pcs Bacon, 3 eggs, 2-3 apples

I am very pleased to see that my diet of bacon, eggs, lard, etc. results in great health markers. One caveat is that I get these foods from very healthy sources, not grocery stores.

People look at me bug-eyed when they learn what I eat, making me second guess myself sometimes. Now I know it works!

Finally, as promised, here are the results of two previous tests, from 2004 and 2005.

This first test was conducted on 11/19/2004. At this time I was on a strict Zone, doing paleo according to Cordain (GASP!). I was eating a lot of olive oil, coconut oil, and other vegetable oils. I ate lean meats, nuts and seeds, etc. I also ate a lot of veggies. Carbs came from fruits. I was doing the WOD every day but was still scaling a lot of it (unlike now).

Lipids:
Serum Cholesterol: 113 mg/dL
Triglyceride: 38 mg/dL
HDL: 49 mg/dL
LDL: 56 mg/dL

Thyroid TSH: 8.73 MIU/mL (this was the first indication I had Hashimoto's hypothyroidism)

Glucose: 82 mg/dL

Did not test Homocysteine or CRP.

==========================
This second test was done a year later (11/08/2005). At this time I was still doing the Zone, but had started to stray. I ate turkey bacon, cheesecake (justifying it with its high fat content), and other processed foods on a regular basis. In this test my cholesterol was a little high, and this alarmed me to the point that I clamped down to stricter paleo foods.

Serum Cholesterol: 181 mg/dL
HDL: 57 mg/dL
Triglyceride: 53 mg/dL
LDL: 113 mg/dL

Glucose: 88

Thyroid TSH: 11.96 MIU/mL (still hypothyroid)
