Hi folks,
while wandering through our local hardware store, I found the perfect cheap massage tool alternative to the "theracane" (see http://www.theracane.com/)- a simple wall hook (e.g., as advertised as "Giant Storage Hanger" for 2.99 USD at http://hardware.hardwarestore.com/28-storage-hooks.aspx): http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/27/17714.jpg This simple tool makes self-massage for your neck and shoulders much easier. For certain muscles, like the supraspinatus or upper trapezius, it is the definitive way to go. For added leverage, you could even mount it on a dowel or shortened broomstick. or you could just use a tree. My favorite though... doing bridges on a basketball, lol.
