I'm wondering if my Dynamax medicine ball can stand the abuse of being used as a slam ball. If not, what are the recommended commercial alternatives? I've thought about building a sandball, but duct tape and Oregon sunshine equals a sticky gross mess.
Thanks, -Brian |

I just got an Everlast med ball from Play it Again Sports that has a surface like a friggin tire. Very hard and tough. So far it's performing very well. Better than the basketball (which got popped), in fact. I think it was about $30.

The commercial alternative is a D-ball:
http://www.d-ball.com/buyd-balls.html 20 pound, yellow non-bounceable. These do have a slight issue in breaking on the plugs when slammed on the plug repeatedly. You can go up to 100 pounds. |

Do not slam your Dynamax ball, either buy or make a Slam ball. I believe the Dynamax instructions repeat that point.

I bought a 18# leather ball from Iron Woody, used it for slam ball 2 days before the seams started to split... I now only use it for wall ball.
