So should I buy a nice set of power rings or should I just DIY the set of rings? I'm really debating but both are viable. I want to here from people who have used both, thanks

If you can swing the Elite or Power rings financially, they're great products. A finished full circle is much nicer on dips and muscle ups.

I've got the Elite rings and love them. Thinking about getting more.

Search for posts from a few days ago, someone posted a marine purse ring that is a fraction the cost of Power Rings.

You could buy the tools, wood and glue to make these along with a big steak and cash in your pocket for the price of elite rings. Plus you would have the tools afterwards. These won't take you more than an hour or two to produce. You may want to make 3 rings if you're new to using a jigsaw. I used a router to round the edges but a rasp would do the same work. Wrap with tape and get to work on your MUs. Don't misunderstand, I have used and like the elite rings and the power rings. I would just rather put my money other places right now especially since I had the lumber, tools, and ability to begin with. |

The purse rings mentioned have a much smaller diameter, which makes them less than ideal. Plus they are not textured and do not come with anything for mounting. They are cheaper, but I think the quality of the Elite Rings makes up for the difference in price.

Plastic Purse Rings
Made of high tensile engineered plastic. Very abrasion resistant. Sizes are wall dimension x inside diameter. Stock # Size LPCPR6 1" x 6" LPCPR8 1" x 8" Those are not small rings. What are the dimensions of the Elite rings? |

Be careful in your selection of purse rings if you go that route. The plastic ones I've seen are designed to give off a "self-lubricant" to allow the line to more easisly slide through them; not good for our purposes.

I agree with Tyler, I just received his new black rings today. Great product, simple setup and the straps are long enough for ring pushups. Not to mention they look sweet.
