Hi

This morning started out great, I recieved notification from my local post office that there was a package for me to collect. I knew it had to be my power max rings so I decided to have a jog down to collect. When I got there I was slapped with a customs charge of around $20, same thing with the elite rings as well no roblem, I wanted to get to work. When I made it back home and opened the package my joy began to crumble like a tough cookie in the hands of a giant. After looking at the diagram on the instruction leaflet and scatching my head like a caveman I decided that I would need crossfitters help. So, crossfitters to the rescue please. I'm thinking something along the lines of one of those books like driving for dummies or internet for dummies etc.(pics would be good.) Has anybody got a fool proof guide on how to set these babies up? im just wishing they were as simple as the elite!

I am going to give this a shot.

The package contains 2 rings, 2 straps, 4 buckles, 4 elastic bands for holding down extra strap length and 2 D-rings.

Each of the 4 buckles is for attaching the straps either to the rings or to whatever you are using to support them.

The first thing that you should do is slide one of the buckles a couple of feet from the end of one of the straps with the strap going through each of the holes in it once and the curved portion facing up. Then place a ring on the end of the strap giving yourself a foot or so of strap to work with. Pull the strap up through the ring and then pass it back through both holes in the buckle. After that bring the end of the strap back over and put in back through the hole in the buckle that is closest to the rings to lock it down. I will go to the gym in a few minutes to take some pictures of the process and post them. I think that I didn't have any problems with setting them up because I have used buckles like this before.

Here are the pictures:

First you position the buckle so that the the straps are going through each of the holes once and the part that is curved out is towards you. As in the top picture below.

Then you pass the end of the strap through the ring.

Then you put the strap through each hole in the buckle once.

Then you pass the strap back through the end of the buckle closest to the ring.

You do the same thing on the other end whether attaching the strap to a bar or the D-rings. Here are some pictures of that end in case it is easier to see when they straps are not lying on the ground.

We have attached our rings permantly at muscle up height using the D-rings because the textured rings really help out with maintaining your grip when doing muscle ups.

I hope this helped.

Thanks Ahmik. I wish I had your instructions before I received my rings earlier this week. I too felt like Leon, and it took me awhile to figure them out.

LOL...you guys are making me feel better! I ended up emailing Karl for instructions on mine and felt like a bone-head after reading Ahmik's first post about the 'quick and easy setup.'

Off to add this topic to the FAQ...

Just curious, I'm a newbie to rings and I'm thinking about picking up a set of the powermax rings. I'd be using these at the gym or in my dorm, hooked up to a bar.
Do you have to take the strap and wrap it around the bar you're mounting them to, then put it through the a buckle or would you just be able to leave the carabiner on, throw it over a bar and attach it to the strap(ie/ quicker set up/take down, keeps the length the same)?

I hope that made sense, and I hope it isn't too stupid of a question.

Hey David, I was thinking the same thing. I'll probably get a pair and adjust the straps to dip height then put a carabiner at the end so I can pop it on and off the pullup bar or smith machine at the gym.
