Based on the review from Glenn Pendlay when I bought our Pendlay bars and some of the reviews on this board I purchased 2 sets of Promaxima Squat stands.

They were $135 plus $65 shipping per pair to San Diego. They are made in Houston.

They are really solidly made. All you had to do to put them together was attach the uprights to the bases. They are heavy and very stable.

They also have some nice features such as the previously mentioned plastic inserts in the cradle for the bar that are attached with bolts, to protect your bars knurling.

The holes for adjustment are very close together so you can more accurately accomidate people of differing heights.

The uprights above the bar cradle are nice and high allowing you put the bar back safely and easily. They also have a nice powder coat which appears very durable.

They do not go low enough for bench press, so we are keeping our TDS stands for bench press as well as for use with larger classes.

The one issue I found when putting them together was that the uprights of two of the four stands were stuck in the outer tubes at first. I was worried that I would have to send them back, but once I got them unstuck and slid them up and down a couple of times they were as easy to adjust as the other pair. All in all I am very happy with the purchase.

Thanks for the review! They look quite nice and I really like the plastic inserts on the hooks. I need to figure out something like that for my squat stand.

What I do with my hooks to prevent them and the bar from grinding away at each other, is to line them with plastic cut from an empty protein container. I use about 3 layers and stick them in place with contact cement.

I just received mine and put them together yesterday. I agree with everything Ahmik said. I was surprised how easily the adjusted. No sticking for mine or anything. They were $190 total shipped to Tucson. You can also order white, grey or black.
