Nice work, Jerry! Your reps are extremely solid.

I'm going to strap a ten-pound plate to Neal's thirty-pound vest and give you a run for your money. A little motivation toward putting up some big numbers down the road...

Your location is awesome. Dark, dirty, and wet. If that's not Again Faster, I don't know what is.

Train hard.

Best,

Jon

Earlier in the thread there's a question about chains. I looked around a lot trying to find heavy chain at a decent price. You get over 3/8, the price goes up up up, and it's hard to find - and add big $$ for freight if you have it shipped in. Best way for big chain might be used - industrial surplus or scrap yard or something like that. I ended up buying new 3/8 chain at Home Depot. In the department where they sell cut-to-order lengths, they also have boxes of chain in single lengths. I got a box of 30 feet of 3/8. It's about 1.4 pounds per foot. Cost about $60 - $1.43 a pound. Bigger chains get to 2 or 3 times that price per pound. I cut my chain into two 15 foot segments. You don't need to cut any more segments, but you have to at least double-up the segment to get more load off the floor. You could triple-up the segment, or quadruple-up. Which is what I did.

Jen,

Have a great vacation! I'll look forward to hearing from you. Congratulations on the kip!

Once you can kip on a trapeeze-style, double pendulum apparatus (rings/AF Bar), you'll be able to kip hard on anything!

Right now, I'm in the Gunks with my girl doing some rock climbing. We were climbing in the Peter's Kill area yesterday. At the bottom of a route called "Klingon", there's an overhanging ledge about seven feet up.

I jumped, kipped hard, and muscle-upped the ledge! There will be pictures on my site next week!

Yeah, Crossfit!

Best,

Jon

Wow, Jen's kipping on rings Jon is doing muscle-ups on cliffs...awesome!

John M. - Many years ago I bought chains from a resource of Louie Simmons, Westside barball - Topper's Supply - even with shipping they were much cheaper than the local HD.

I used the AF bar this morning, my grip is rock solid on the thing!

Jon,

I need to send you some pictures/video of how I have the AF bars mounted both inside my power rack and between my rack and the TAPs bar. I removed the tighter black straps and have them hanging by the red straps only....now I have pullup bars that both swing and "roll". (You should see my living room!). Tougher than a solid bar and an awesome grip workout. When I can do 40 kipping pullups on this bar 65+ will be a piece of cake on a solid bar.

Jennifer,

Fat bar pullups - awesome. You'll kick a$$ when you go back to a "regular" size bar.
