I've left a message for Glenn, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. So, in the meantime, I'm curious if anyone here knows anything about the "Crossfit Bars" that are now listed on his website:

http://store.wfwclub.com/crsp.html

I'm looking to get a better bar, but am not sure I'm up for going into the $300+ price range at this point. I'm wondering if this would be a good compromise.

Looks like an awesome bar. Looks almost too good to be true though, ya know?

If it's anywhere near as good as the regular Pendlay bar (which I purchased) it should be great and spin like a dream. I'm very happy with my bar, and I paid full price.

Paul, I have an empty spot on my bar rack so it seemed only appropriate to fill it with a nice bar and your post prompted me to give this bar a try. I'll let you know what I think of it when it shows up.

Thanks for the post, that's a great deal. Maybe I can convince my college Master to spring for the weight set. The best offer we had on a 110 kg set with bar shipped before was $930... $559 is a huge difference!

For Paul and any others... the "Crossfit" bar that I sell is NOT the same quality a bar as the Pendlay weightlifting bars. If you want a really, really nice bar, the weightlifting bar is the one to buy.

The $139 bar has adequate spin and "whip", good knurling, and good durability. The sleeves wont come off if it is repeatedly dropped, and it wont bend under any kind of normal use. If you want a bar that can be used for snatches and cleans as well as squats and other exercises, it will work for you. I believe it is a great bar for the money, the least money you can spend and actually get a usable, durable bar.

However, it wasnt designed to be a top of the line weightlifting bar, and it isnt. You cant make one of those for $139.00. If you want top of the line, buy the Pendlay weightlifting bar, it costs $200 more, but is worth it.

From your description of the CrossFit bar it is exactly what I need. The 400 pound weight limit will have no effect on me for quite awhile as I have no real use for 400 pounds on a bar except as gym decoration or as a display of my bumpers. The majority of its use will be with 65 to 135 pounds on it so I won't be taxing it. When I am stronger than a 6th grade cheerleader I'll move up.

This bar sounds perfect for me as well. I anxiously await the verdict from folks that have ordered one... and may order one for myself quite soon.
