Just wanted some opinions on various GHD's in use throughout the community. I'm going to be purchasing one pretty soon and am wanting a high quality GHD for a decent price. I've used a Sorinex up at CF NorCal and that thing is sweet but too much for my budget right now.

Thanks for any input.

John-

We are going to upgrade our GHD but will not have the new pad until early Fall. I can keep you posted if you are interested.

Karl- I would appreciate that, don't know if I can hold out until fall (patience not one of my virtues) but any info would be appreciated.

IMO, GHD is an acronym for Legit.

Actually, GHD stands for Gonadal Hyper Distension

Blender, check out BFS's cheap(ish) one - $500:

Appears to be just as adjustable as a Sorinex, just built with lighter-weight tubing. But unless you suddenly gain 300 lbs, I think that should be all right.

When I purchased our first GHD, I went for the lowest price. Unfortunately, as with anything, I got what I paid for. I purchased a Yukon for $199.00. It lasted 6 months.http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/26/27164.jpghttp://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/26/27165.jpgYukon sent me a replacement part, however, I suggest investing in a better quality product.

I've used a ton of different GHDs. The best is the equipment guys stray dog model. http://www.equipmentguys.com/main.html it's about 1400 though. If your shopping for a school or a crossfit gym this would be my recomendation. If it's for your garage gym BFS will suffice

Skip,

Say it ain't so. Thats the same GHD I have. It works fine for back ext. and situps but the pad kills my quads when doing GHD raises(its namesake exercise, go figure)

Has anyone ever tried one of the GHD from New York Barbell of Elmira Inc. they seem to have a decent price. I'm going to be asking for one for christmas when I get home. Sorry, not trying to hijack thread, but figured that everyone was already talking about the GHD here. Oh, yeah, the other thing, NY BARBELL is shipping included. For what it's worth.
