I found this link on another post on this board. It's areally good book. You can make the gh rise much harder by varying the knee placement as described in this booklet...

After looking online at a lot of GHD's, I finally purchased the Yukon. It was $100 cheaper that the NYBarbell one. It was $250 (with shipping) cheaper than the Promaxima. It weighs as much as each of them (same amount of metal meaning it's not made with thinner parts). It feels solid, doesn't creak, and was simple to put together. The pad and foot plates are easily modified if you don't like them.
Bottom line - get a GHD, get the best one you can afford but don't put off the purchase, they really do rock. I would love a high end GHD - the Yukon is home gym quality and why buy a bazooka when a .22 will do? Jeff - Dips can only be done partial range because your chest runs into the pad when dip down very far. P.S. Put Yukon on in the fitness section of Ebay. These are listed under all kinds of things (Roman Chairs, Hyperextension), but there is deals to be had on Ebay if you look around. |
