Anyone had a side by side comparison of different GHD's or experiences with different brands? I've read the opinions in the all the previous posts, but am looking for first hand experiences. I will be buying one soon, the base price of the Promaxima ($269) is cheaper than the NYbarbell ($299), but the shipping is $180 for the Promaxima and free for the NY barbell. Is the Promaxia that much better? Any other brands highly recommended?
Thanks |

This doesn't answer your question but...
I made my homemade GHD by making the foot holds out of pipe/foam/duct-tape and attaching them to the wall. I then take my big balance ball or what ever you want to call it and put it on top of a box so the height is right and it works pretty well. I can push off the wall with my toes and it is hard as hell so I think I am in the right position. I can move the ball around to get it in the right place. I also do situps on it as well. Sounds dangerous like you would fall off but it isn't really. |

I'm not sure that I'm getting the full training effect but I put a weighted bar on the squat rack and use a ball like kevin decribes.
Best regards, Bruce |

Hey Jeffrey and gang,
I just bought my glute-ham developer last week and am very satisfied. My hams have been very sore as well. Here is the description and pricing: Yukon ROMAN CHAIR HYPER EXTENSION Machine $219 including S&H Although that description doesn't go further into detail, it does have the foot plate for glute-ham raises. Here's the link with all the details: www.backtrainer.com/Roman-Chair-Hyperextension-Yukon.html Prior to this addition to my gym I was hooking my feet under the oly bar loaded with the 45's and laying on a stability ball and doing extensions and g-h raises as best I could. I like this one by Yukon. The price included shipping. Assembly was required but a socket wrench slapped it together easily(I did put the foot support on backwards at first so it pays to check your work before final torque is applied) There is also a great training article at the biggerfasterstronger.com site on glute-ham training and all the things you can do on the apparatus. |

Could you post some pics? Is the pad "split" or one piece? Thanks.
