Good point Larry. It is hard enough for me to get through the WOD without the equiptment beating me up as well. I will try to make a slope-sided box this weekend.
Last night for "Kelly" I did "stump jumps". I have two logs that I haven't split that are around 20" high and 18" to 20" round. A bit unstable but it was available. |

The problem with BFS is that the shipping on the boxes is almost as high as the cost of the boxes. Or so I recall. That could have changed.
I like the angled sides because they can stack neatly that way. The next on top of each other very easily. |

Nikki,
JK here (the guy who built Beth's bars) Regarding the pullup bars - sorry, that's classified information, we don't provide that to Aussies' for fear of upsetting the kangaroos. Seriously, I'll post that on the "Outdoor pullup bars" thread so as not to Hijack Lincoln's cool plyoboxes (which we'll be building soon!) I love the sharing of information here. Thanks, Lincoln!! JK |

Lincoln, any reason in particular you went with maple plywood? Was it a matter of having a better finish, or is maple stronger?
Great looking boxes, BTW. |

Better quality wood. Harder surface, less voids in the ply, less knotholes, holds screws better. It really tore up my saw blade too. The wood was actually from the center section from my old Olympic weightlifting platform, so I know it's durable!

Lincoln,
How did you determine the proper angle to use at the top edge and bottom edge in order to make a sloped box? |

Cardboard mockup (first photo). Then I just set the saw blade angle to match.
