pretty cool facility - not too many pics, but see how they have chains dangling from iron posts and v bars or handles connected to the chains - looks very cool.

it's a great way to get pull up bars scattered through the gym aside from the walls only.

I agree, looks like an awesome playground.

Kelly, can you check it out in person?

Does seem like a cool place and a cool philosophy but if you read into some of the statetments on the site they don't use any weights and seem to negatively generalize "weightlifting" as the isolation-machine-bodybuilding style of weight training w/o recognizing the functional fitness carryover from compound free weight exercises.

I made a visit to the Monkey Bar gym today - it's a great place where the posted workouts are very Crossfit-like. While virtually everything is bodyweight based, they just added kettlebells into the mix. Two 20+ foot no knot climbing ropes, a bachar ladder, a "maze" of several long unevenly hung free-swinging 2" diameter bars, rings to swing on, medicine balls, plyo boxes, a single point suspended pulldown bar for pullups, parallettes and wall space for HSPUs. If the timing works, I will be doing an occasional WOD there. It looks great.

I work at the MBG, so I'd have to agree it is a awesome place. I'm new to the Crossfit site, from what I've seen so far there is definitely a lot of overlap in the philosophies. Right now at our gym, most members take classes, but we offer personal training and sports-specific group training as well. Classes are set up so that anyone training at any level can all work out together. Thanks for the visit- Kelly.
