Is there a way to alter the drag rate on the model B's or can that only be done on C and newer?

Re: Adjusting the drag on a C2 Model B?
Tim;
Use to have a B. Is there a second gear that you can flip the chain to? If not, not sure you can increase drag, but best bet is to check the C2 site, email or call them, or just buy a C, D or E. |

Re: Adjusting the drag on a C2 Model B?
Doesn't opening the vent on the side change the drag? It does on the Model D they have here at work.

The vent on the side is the damper and I can barely notice much difference when having it opened or closed... I know on the model C and newer the drag rating can be accessed on the monitor and adjusted from there but that function isn't available on the PM1 monitor that I have. |

Yeah, I don't notice much change either with the vents...
Just move the chain to the other cog and try it out, no tightening needed. |

Re: Adjusting the drag on a C2 Model B?
I found this on the British Concept 2 site:
Quote:
The drag factors in parenthesis are not from the original table but are calculations from the forum... they are figured to approximatley correspond to the drag factor of the model c and up. here's the discussion on the C2 forums (WFS): http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php...64f6861ad2543e This pretty much answers my question! Thanks for all the input! |

Re: Adjusting the drag on a C2 Model B?
So, since I didn't know about the large cog/small cog thing till today, I took a look under the hood of my new C2 and to my surprise the chain was linked around the small cog. I switched it over to the large cog and the resistance was immediatly cut. I need to fiddle around to see which setting gets me the best times, but I think I prefer it on a higher damper.
