40 lb. strict pullups - 5,5,3
supersetted with 30 lb. ring dips - 5,5,3 I'm thinking about trying Bryce Lane's 20 minute thing with weighted dips and pullups. |

Uhh,
this is crazy. I am not going to commit to any more challenges until I complete some of the other ones I am attempting. That is, unless I discover how to do kipping ring dips. |

I am doing these every morning along with some other selected movements for one set of max reps, I am up to 30 reps without coming off of the rings, I assume resting in the bottom position is acceptable as long as I don't come off rings. I finish in the evening with sets of 10 reps to total 100 reps for the day. Have been doing this since 10/18. My progress has been fast, but I could bar dip with 100 lbs of extra weight for reps before I started working on this, so it is more improvement in my stabilizer musculature and coordination.
Even as strong as I was when starting, the first time I tried ring dips (about 5 mo ago?)I looked like I was having a seizure I was flailing so bad. There was such discrepancy between what I could do on the rings vs. bar, I thought something was wrong with me... There was, I was a strong unbalanced spaz |

Holy cr%p, took my new rings out for their maiden voyage last night and color me converted!! Have played with all sorts of modifiers for ring - bar dips and in hindsight nothing even comes close. Multiply by three, add a quarter of your bodyweight - fuggedaboutit .. nothing I have tried drops me down to triples and doubles like these rings do.
Am going to try and work ladders for a couple of weeks and get to double figures then see where to go from there. Is 90 degrees good enough for this challenge or should I be going for max depth?? Cheers, kempie |

Hey Chris,
In keeping with my muscle-up form, I aim to to go as low as possible by bringing my pits to my wrists. I believe the norm is to at least get your upper arms parallel to the floor. Check out this article over at GymJones, it gives some good insight as to what entails proper form: http://www.gymjones.com/knowledge.php?id=20 -Ralph |

Craig your list of goals seems to be lacking something... maybe you overlooked it.
one hand handstand pushups. So how many ring dips is this challenge for? 50? I am in for that. Now is this going to be an under 5 minutes thing? Or can we just sit on the rings and rest? |
