Good news! Just did 8 muscleup singles for real (without the caveats from the last post) over the course of 30 minutes, also one assisted.

Followed by 5,4,3,2,1 dips armpits to rings.

Tried some negative MUs. I still can't keep control through the reverse transition, when my hands are almost in front of me I lose it.

I hope to have good news on the HSPUs tomorrow.

Ian and Brendan, you guys advice has helped a lot with the strength in the HSPU (right now I can do about 5 head to floor in a set) but I still can't get the balance into and out of a free standing HSPU. While fresh I am going to try again for a free standing HSPU tomorrow.

Failed in my most recent attempt at a freestanding handstand pushup.

Day behind on the WOD, after mondays and an hour of rest did some more muscleups and got 9 singles in about 20 minutes (still no doubles) and tried the 5,4,3,2,1 ring dips but I hit muscle failure on the set of three. How bad is it to go to muscle failure? Also twice when passing the rings I did isolated single MUs.

I guess the MUs are coming faster because there is less balance involved. Having never been terribly coordinated, I really need to work on balance. For Friday I will try the muscleups and HSPU with toes on the wall, just using it for balance as little as possible.
