David - 50 is the goal number, not necessarily your age...it just works that way for me. More will be younger than us rather than older so you go for 50 at 57 (you stud) and the 25ers can go for 50 as well.

Fairly simple contest and rules. Kipping is authorized of course and grip is your choice and adjustable on the fly. No touching the ground or other support and no wraps or other grip devices. To straight arms at the bottom of each rep and chin over the bar at the top. Hang as long as you want to rest but you have to stay on the bar once you start.

For me the point is to do the 50 on my 50th birthday which will be November 27th. Even if I am able to do the 50 before then I am not going to actually go for that many until the 27th. I would like us all to do the same and do it on that day and report our accomplishments here.

Jerry - what a contest that would be. I'll be happy with my 50 pullups thank you, I'm not yet able to do much more than grunt a lot when trying to do a one armed pullup. I'll have to work on that.

Welcome aboard everyone. Do please keep everyone posted as to your progress. It will be motivating to see how everyone is doing.

I think that my max was at 22 kipping a few weeks ago. I'm in for fifty. And without consulting him, I'm throwing John Messano in as well. I hope the WOD for 051127 reads "50 pullups... Happy Birthday Eugene!"

Hah! I'm much the same, Karl. I got 18 on the recent "Lynne" and have been at CrossFit for just over a year now.

About time I got my numbers up... I think maybe *my* age is more realistic than these oldies though... 35 is much closer than 50; actually, I'll be 36 by then.
