Agreed--Tabata squats are brutally effective (with an emphasis on both brutal and effective). But to tell you the truth, I've never felt more pain and burn than when I did the WOD from a few days ago that called for 7 rounds of walking lunges. After round 3, my legs would start burning by the time I had gotten to the first 20 feet or so. The remaining 80 feet was a lactic acid lovefest--sheer and utter pain.

I tried Tabata squat thrusts yesterday ...

Result: breathing very hard!
