I know that if you are trying to gain mass eating a lot helps. But what about if you are trying to gain just power and not size? Can you lose fat and train to increase power effectively?

Marc, I dont have an article to provide you with specific evidence as to how this works or doesn't work. But I will speak based on personal experience. When I first began crossfitting I followed the "ideal" crossfit diet to the best of my ability. Started with zone and slowly increased the fat blocks as I went on. As it turned out, the result was a slight decrease in weight and a definite decrease in body fat percentage along with a huge increase in my performance. But along with that comes the commitment. Anyone can accomplish goals, it just all depends on how badly you want them and how much you are willing to work for it.
