Im curious about the type of Crossfitter that is planning on entering into the CF games. I am, I believe, an average crossfitter. Ive been Crossfitting for 9 months nearly, my max CFT has only been about 600, and I can complete the crossfit workouts but not with any record breaking speed. I think that it would be a blast to enter the games if not just for the comraderie, however, I don't want to be the only chump out there not doing a 2 minute Fran or putting up a 1000 CFT. My weight fluctuates at 178-181 so I think that I would be in the 180 class.

Either way I will be attending the event, its just whether or not I compete.

Thanks

I thought about the same thing with 9 months behind me and CFT of 635 and BWT 210.

I definitely want to attend and it would be fun to play, but I too entertain no dream of contending for the belt. It would be good to know the logistics, that is, will 10,000 people be there?

If so then maybe it's best to just be a spectator to allow better flow for the real competitors.

Personal Opinion. Go and compete. Isn't that the primary reason we all do CF in the first place?

If nothing else it will push you harder and further than you would otherwise be willing to go and you'll have a benchmark for future comparison.

How could not competing benefit you? You may come in low, you may have a huge PR, either way, you are part of the community. You'll be better for it, and I know you will be treated well.

since there are a lot of folks that are unable to travel to the Crossfit Games but might be able to travel to a local Crossfit location, how about having some of the events held locally too (e.g. CF Total)?

Go and do it.

Winning is a good thing, but simply competing is a better thing for so many reasons. Winning doesn't always make a better person, but giving it everything you have in competition does. If I can get the days off, I'll be there.

Good news, vacation June 28 - July 15.

Bad news, east coast. Can't even go to watch let alone compete.

Will this be televised on Versus, perhaps, or maybe ESPN 8 (the ocho)?

Im in! It took me a while to grow a pair but with plenty of watering and sunshine I was finally able to click "submit." Now, I may come in at the bottom but at least I wont hate myself for not doing it.

Thanks or the encouragement. I love this place!

I hope to see some of you there!

Nick
