Hi everyone.. I am new to crossfit but not new to training. I have been doing traditional bodybuilding training for almost 15 years. In an effort to totally change my style of training I am adopting crossfit methodology. My question pertains to post workout nutrion. Traditional training for me has been followed by a PWO shake with 50 grams of whey isolate, and 90 grams of dextrose with creatine and glutamine. Now... with the zone eating plan to accompany this type of training, such an insuline response/spike is certainly looked down upon. I only ask this question as it is the type of recovery that I have followed for years. Traditional bodybuilding methodology wants a glucose spike to replentish lost glycogen stores after training and since you are in such an anabolic state, that simple sugar uptake does not lead to fat loss.

Any help on understanding the post workout fuel you all take in would be helpfull.

90 grams of dextrose would make me puke.

Thanks for the protein article greg that was very interesting reading but when I clicked on to go to part two I couldnt find the rest of th article and was wondering if I was the only one

I have found the second part in the google cache. Just do a google search after the complete URL of the second part and choose "from cache".
