Re: power racks

There's a $300 here that has gotten good reviews elsewhere on this site:
http://jesupgym.com/products.htm?cid=13 (WFS - scroll down 2/3rds of the page)

Add rings for dips.

Re: power racks

The elite one is bombproof and what 1000# squatters use (well, when they aren't using the monolift). But for mere mortals the jesup gym version is pretty good (especially considering the price difference. I haven't outgrown it yet.

Were I setting up a powerlifting/black-iron gym, I'd go with elite products almost exclusively...they make good stuff, IMHO.

But for crossfit, I favor squat stands actually since they are more movable and have a small footprint. Now if you have to have it for the pullup bar (meaning no other way to construct/mount one) the jesup gym rack is good.

Re: power racks

I've only been on these boards since spring 08, but it's amazing even at this point how repetitive certain questions are. Use the search function. At one point over the past 9 months this question was asked previously, and the response was tremendous, including a link to another board that compared hundreds of power racks, prices, services, cheapest way to get them. One of the posters had been in the industry, and knew all the ins and outs of metal types, welds, sizings.

Use the search function.

Re: power racks

We have 3 cages .. this one by promaxima is our favorite.

It is not as much of a beast as our BFS cage, or quite as flexible as our TDS cage (which has J-Hooks that can be placed just about anywhere) and the pull-up bar is kind of skinny.

However, nearly everyone chooses this cage if its open ... me included.

The above link is WFS.
