Re: Heavy Metal - Carl's New Log

10 x 50m freestyle intervals.

Due to my ankle still being a little bit sore I figured I'd get some swimming in and start roadwork (weight vest walking) next week.

Re: Heavy Metal - Carl's New Log

Press @ 115 lbs: 5,3,2
Deadlift @ 300 lbs: 5,3,2
Weighted Pullup Ladder @ 25 lbs: 5 x (1,2,3)

Conditioning Workout, "Der Panzerfaust":

4 Rounds for Time of:

20 x Kettlebell Swings @ 24 KG
10 x Plate Situps @ 45 lbs

Completion time: 10:05 (min:sec)

Cashout: 1 x 30' Rope climb

I nicknamed the conditioning workout "Der Panzerfaust" after a German World War II era recoilless disposable anti-tank weapon after having been reading a bit of World War II history over the weekend.

At the rope climb my forearms were rather smoked, and I thus thought it an appropriately challenging 'cash out' for the end of the workout.

Re: Heavy Metal - Carl's New Log

Bench @ 180 lbs: 5,3,2
Squat @ 180 lbs: 5,3,2
Weighted Pullups Ladder @ 25 lbs: 5 x 1

Conditioning workout I nicknamed "Der Konigstiger" roughly translated into 'The King Tiger' after the German World War II tank (w/f/s). The nickname came about due to the fact that I was reading a book on World War II armored warfare around the time I wrote the workout.:

Buy in: 30 foot rope climb

4 Rounds for time of:

Barbell Upper Body Complex @ 95 lbs (Consisting of bent over row, high pull, and press for 5 reps apiece)
250m Row on Concept 2 Rower

That took me 10:11 (min:sec) to finish

Buy out: 30 Kettlebell Swings @ 24 KG

Gasping for air after my 4 rounds for time barbell complex and rowing, my time at the end of the kettlebell swings was 11:57 (min:sec)
