National Peanut Board's new campaign

Anyone see this?

I've been seeing these ads lately as I ride the subway to work. Being a runner, naturally I was drawn to the ads.

I did some research and apparently the National Peanut Board is putting on a campaign to promote the health benefits of peanuts. It's supposed to reach 800 million people.

I eat peanut butter like it's going out of style, but I thought the message was pretty silly. They're promoting the high protein content of peanuts by insinuating that you'll have more energy for an aerobic activity like running. I don't really see what the connection between high protein and running is. Just wanted to share.

The only times I've ever nearly puked from exercise was due to eating PB&Js right before mountain biking.

I can't eat peanut butter during endurance work. I get really bad heartburn and I can taste it in my throat for 2 hours + after I consume it. Not sure it's the best snack for running imo

Agree - I keep a jar in the fridge at work and at home - I eat at least 40 oz. a week. I found a 5 lb jar last week. Chick at the checkout was like "you won't need to buy PB for a while..." I replied "Probably about 2 weeks - and no one else eats it, that's just me." I do get some strange looks walking back to my office with my 5 lb jar of PB and a spoon though....

That's awesome.
I eat about 1.5 - 2 lbs each week of peanut butter. Peanut butter on a spoon with raisins, washed down with whole milk. That's like the best meal ever.
