Every time I go to my sisiter's in NW New Jersey, I get a new batch of "pudding stones" which are a purple/pink stone with white quartz running through it. I can usually find some that have been smoothed out by the elelments, and they look nice in the yard when I'm not hauling them around.

I'm gonna infil a local quarry my geology class did a field trip to the last time I was going to school-lots and lots of nice big granite blocks! A hammer and a cold chisel should take the worst of the blood drawing edges off.

Mike,
I haven't forgotten our lovely sandbags (I don't run with them often anymore though). I have a "bag o' woe" that I made by filling a slightly smaller than issue size duffel with sand, tie it tight, and then put it in a second bag upside down and seal up. Hurts so good! I used it for DL's and buddy carry drills this summer. I gotta get a couple for work before I go though. Never have weighed it when full. Ironmind has a sandbag workout book I'd like to get, along with every other toy they make!

A heavy contractors garbage bag inside of an old duffle bag works well too.

Anybody who's read this book care to comment on it?

I do have a copy, also. 70-odd pages, covers a number of exercises, also gets into some of the reasoning behind using a sandbag, etc. It's a pretty good reference, and it's like $20.

FWIW...
