URGENT: Should I get this bar?

I have the chance to purchase the following bar: http://www.primalathletes.com/equipm...ining-bar.html

It is a York Men's Standard Needle-Bearing Bar, and I am being offered a chance to get it for $150. I may be able to work it down to $125. However, I am a little short on money, and am still looking to purchase upwards of 300# of plates before the summer. I have about $275-$350 (Absolute maximum, but am hoping to not have to come close to that) to spend on plates and a bar. Should I get this bar?

You will not find a proper Oly bar within $100 of this.

Buy it, and spend the rest of the money on 45# (as many as you can afford) and 25# (2) plates.

Buy it. You won't find a better bar at that price PERIOD!!!!!

Besides, if your looking for just bumpers to go with your bar, goto kettlebell kings website. He has a 260lb set you can get for about 340 shipped.

Well, bumpers will cmoe eventually, for now im getting iron plates because im doing SS this summer, and bumpers are way outta my price range. But a good bar is nice no matter what types of plates you use

Sounds like a plan. Check craigslist. Most people have a set collecting dust. Also, get some stall mats and youll be set!!!

Re: URGENT: Should I get this bar?

I just wanted to point out that $300 that's listed there is ridiculous. Rogue has the bar new for $210 and I bought the same bar for $195 new.
http://www.roguefitness.com/york-wei...-bars-1103.php (WFS)

Also, it's listed as a 20kg bar but mine weighs 40lbs (NOT 45!)

I'm not a huge fan of the bar. It's somewhat slick and the fact that's it's 40lbs is annoying.

But the 28mm is nice, the bearings are smooth, the whip is good, and I do think it's worth $100.

Hmm, thats interesting. Well, anyways, 100$ is still a great price it seems. The guy sent me a blurry pic.
