Lifting on grass

Just to beat anyone to it, I know you shouldn't toke up before you lift.

That being said, I can't lift overhead in my basement because the ceiling is too low, I have no garage, and my driveway is gravel.

Just curious about people's opinions on safely lifting (especially Oly lifting) on a surface like the ground in the backyard. I was going to try to build a platform back there, but I just don't want to make that investment not knowing how it's going to weather or how to protect it.

Just curious. Thanks!

Re: Lifting on grass

I don't think it's dangerous, but it'll definitely be harder. Ground/grass is softer than lifting platforms, so you'll lose a lot of force.
