I am looking to floor a 6000sq foot gym space, and need cheap rubber any thoughts?

Horse stall mats. $45 for 4'x6'. I just bought twenty of them from the local feed & grain store. Delivery was $20 for the whole lot.

6,000 sq. feet? Doesn't sound like a Crossfit gym...

I wonder if conveyor belting may not be cheaper in that kind of quantity. It may also save you a fair bit of labor. Check out "Industrial Supplies" or "Material Handling" in your local phone book.

From what I've heard, the conveyor belting, when used for its original intent, stretches over time and needs to be replaced. This doesn't affect its value as floor matting however. You may want to check local lumber companies (or anyone else who uses the belting) in your area to see if they're looking to get rid of any.
