Re: Nike Metcon

First of all guys... 10k rows, and 5k rows..? why?

So I've been in the black and grey ones for about 2 or 3 months now and it quickly became my favorite shoe. Heel was locked in, not as narrow as most nike's get bad rap for, and really felt designed to handle those moderate weight barbell movements.

Then... I got a hold of a cheap pair of nano 5's. Reebok, I feel, took it to the next level. They kept the shoe very light and yet still feels more solid for lifting than generations before it. I'm really torn. I was a Nike fanboy as a kid. Then of course Reebok owned CrossFit, so I was in turn owned by Reebok. I'm so torn now. I feel like I love Chevy and Ford equally!

well, one was the main site workout of Row 5 mins and rest for 5 minutes for 5 rounds which ended up being about 7k.

the 10k was just because i couldn't think of anything else. put a show on the ipad and row away. it was either that or run and i am not a fan of running.

as for the Nano 5.0, like i said, they are much better but i just can't get over how stupid they look with all those logos. i am now wearing my nike's all day everyday and love their "normal" look.

I rowed 13K once, just to see how far I could row in 60 minutes. Glad I'm not alone in idiotville. lol

I don't think they are inherently better than the Met Con's, but that's just me. However, like you say, they look NORMAL, and not like a friggin billboard.

Sorry, meant much better than previous nanos, not the metcon.

And idiotville, I like it!

Re: Nike Metcon

Looks like i spoke too soon. I just noticed that the top of the toe box is starting to rip on mine not a happy camper right now and no, haven't done rope climbs. I might just cancel my pre order of the second pair and go back to my older nano's.

Re: Nike Metcon

Jayme, that's funny and I love it.

After spending a little time in these and the 5.0 I have to say I like these better. They are better all around shoes than the Nano 5.0 IMHO, and fit better with my style of training (see log). That's not to say the 5.0 isn't a good shoe, it really is, but overall, the Nike wins. Then the 4.0, and then it's kind of a toss up of all the Nano's before that, and THEN the 5.0 on the bottom of that list. It just doesn't mesh well with me for what I need/am looking for in a shoe.

Congrats to Nike, they beat the latest offering from RBK.

That's amazing.

Also, while I love the banned colour way, I really like those black and white ones.
