Re: PR Thread

Goal for 2014 is a 225 clean.

Got 205 squat clean last night for a 20# PR on squat cleans. Felt like I had 215 in me, but time constraints forced me to move on to the metcon with the rest of the gym (I was the last guy to finish the strength segment, as ALWAYS).

Felt good technique-wise, two others watching me said "it looked easy."

Knees are paying the price this morning. Glad it's a day off.

Re: PR Thread

Finally broke the 100lb mark on my squat snatch for a set of 5 at 105. My goal is to be able to hit 135 by summer.

If you really want to get better at snatching, singles are going to be a lot more effective than sets of 5.

I started with sets just practicing form and then figured what the heck I'll increase the weight from 80% to see where my max was.

Re: PR Thread

I have had to re-set PR's and goals due to injury.

Last week, Power Clean PR at 205lbs. About 25 pounds off my best (pre-injury)

Also hit a split jerk triple at 185lbs.

Slowly coming back...taking my time. Feel pretty sure a 200 clean and Jerk is there for the taking but will not attempt that just yet

Re: PR Thread

CF'ing for four months now, completely new to oly lifts, and my only squat experience was back in the "don't go to parallel" days. I'm finally starting to get some techniques down and up some weights.

Finished a 5x5 back squat cycle up today with 1RM testing, increased 30# to 305#. Still gaining strength just by virtue of regaining my overall fitness, s I'm really shooting for 350# in 2014. The other day, first time I really tried heavy cleans, got 185#, and really should have had 195#. Goal for 2014 there is 225#.

Re: PR Thread

Body weight: 173

Back Squat: 255
Dead lift: 350
Push Press: 195
PC: 165
Snatch: 135

Pretty low, I know lol, but im working on improving. I'm always cautious because I had a left knee injury over a year ago.

Re: PR Thread

Hit a 255# (115kg) snatch (5# pr) and came pretty close to 260# (118kg).

Considering my pr in early January was 108kg (and was stuck there for months and months), this past month has been huge.

Didn't get a video of 255#, but here is one of my attempts at 260#. (wfs)
