Re: January: Tabata Everything Challenge

Here are some more ideas for this:
Med Ball shuttle jump- set up two plates (bumper, metal change plates, whatever) about 5 or 6 feet apart, whatever distance you can reach with a horizontal jump, close to max distance. Jump between the two plates, touching a wall ball/medicine ball to the plates. Each touch is a rep.

Stationary/Airdyne bike for distance

KB Spin- swing a KB with one hand, release the KB at about head level, spinning it on a horizontal axis, then catch it with your other hand.

Hurdle jump- wasn't sure what to call this. Set up a 12 or 6 inch wicket or something narrow, like a bar sitting on some bumpers. Jump back and forth horizontally over whatever it is, each touch is a rep.

Re: January: Tabata Everything Challenge

Went to do tabata pull-ups yesterday and my timer ran out of batteries.

Won't get to do any today so looks like two lots of Tabata tomorrow for me.

Edit: obviously not one straight after another. It's not actually Tabata if you physically can imo.

Re: January: Tabata Everything Challenge

Did a Tabata round on the stationary bike today. Got 1.38 miles out of it.

That's day 3 of week 1. Week one complete.

Re: January: Tabata Everything Challenge

Tried pull-ups the other day, didn't really work.

Think I'll go for some rowing this afternoon, probably my favourite/most hated tabata style exercise.

Some light thrusters later in the week as well I think.

Re: January: Tabata Everything Challenge

tabata challenge: week 2/day 2 - push press #75 (22/14/13/10/8/8/8/9)

learned my lesson from going too heavy on the strict press last week. only kep the weight @ #75 but the last four rounds were only in bursts of 3 or 2 reps at a time. the bar by itself might be the best bet for tabata.

@ ray: light thrusters sounds like a good idea & probably will be brutal.
