Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Thursday- normal warm up but short on time prior.

Dead lift- 45, 155x5, 265x5, 315x5, 345x4, 375x3, 405x2. Was heavy but will take that double. Training for King Kong!

Warm up for the class-
Row, db snatch 50#, t2b and new standard hspu.

For time-
60 cal row- 3:20 ish.. about 1:53 pace or slower.
50 db snatches- 20/10/10/10
40 T2b- 12/10/8/7/3 or near that. Felt good. Not much work after 18.1
30 HSPU- point toes, closer to wall, narrow grip, fully extended.. you know everything that a person has to do with a long forearm and short upper arm.. hehe
13/10/7
9:59Rx

Did some rowing afterwards and some wall balls- my knees get sore and the ghd was not feeling that great. So 10 reps of each. Back to rowing and cool down.

I believe that I am about 2k deficit in the rowing meters. Finishing up on 7 months. I have changed to more intensity on the rowing.

Work is crazy. Workers have been not very dependable. Vendors have been rough on my schedule. I had hopes to have time to train in the day. But I found myself in the assembly area directing and trying to figure out some of the custom stuff. Bad news when the boss is in that area and not selling stuff. But this is how it is going to be. The MQ is just for fun. Nothing too serious. Goal is to move up a bunch of spots and do my best.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Goal was to slow down 2018. Not working out too well so far. Almost 25% done with 18 and no slow down in site. In May I am headed to Ontario Canada to purchase a boat that I fell in love with. I have been looking for the right deal. Instead of purchasing it and road warrioring it home 3,000 miles I am going to enjoy it in Port Carling that weekend if it goes well. Then wait a month and move it to the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoy it around that point. July will be taking it to a Lake in Colorado. Then finally in Aug move it to Big Bear for my 50th birthday. VBRO has some cool places with a dock to use it. The boat is a 20' 1951 Greavette, Canadian made. Going to rename it Fifty1Shifty.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Friday- regular warm up-
Some clean and jerk practice. Not the bast form and was really heavy up to 205#

10 min 5 rounds of 200 meter rows rest the remainder of time. Around :41-:43 seconds each.

Rest 2 min-
8 min amrap-
40 bar facing burpees- 2:23 was a good effort.
Remainder of time 205# clean and jerk- 11 reps. Had about 5 min after my rest and loading the weight.

Rest 2 min
5 man makers 50# db's
200 meters farmer carry
5 man makers 50# db's.
4:12 RX+

Did some more rowing and other things but forgot what they were.

Saturday warm up for class-
6 rounds
25 dubs
5/5 one arm thrusters 50#
20 jumping lunges
Took about 9 min or so.

6 rounds of row 280 meters at race speed then some squat snatches.
105,125,145,165, 175,185, 195F.

Sunday was my trio of rowing, MU and ghd.

Did about 6 round starting with warm up speed on the rower 1,2,3,4,5, then AMRAP in :60 of MU- 8/8 so 30 plus of them. Not the best day ever but ok. The ghd's were mostly 10's and one 15 rep set. Rower was 2:15 to 1:53 speed.

I can see my effort level working by myself and in class setting. Zero pre workout is good for my body but its sluggish at best. Zero diet is not helping either.

Had a wonderful Easter with the grand daughter! She is so fun.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Friday- warm up normal warmed up hammies. Also have a ghd in the shop. So did about 50/50 regular and glute ham raises.

Enter the dead lift all sets of 5- 155, 245, 315, 365 and 395. I like to use the 55's, 45's, 35's, 25's and 15's. Hope to add on 10's, 5's, 2.5's, 1's, 1/2's for a total of 433x5 that would be good goal. Still wish to do king kong on my birthday in Aug.

Squat clean practice - 45-225# sorry knees for what Im about to do to ya.

Emom- Odd 15 db snatches alt 50# db
Even 10 new standard hspu

Rest
Got ready for the metcon-
Run 200 meters each round 9,7,2 squat cleans 225#
Took about 9 min for this.

Some cool down and stretch. Row a bit. Deficit 4k.

Between the dl and the 21 squat clean reps I was tired. Floss and massage.

Saturday arrive 6:30AM ouch- normal warm up with extra rowing.

Warm up with ss db-

15 min to find a heavy squat snatch- 45- 195# was not the best day. Don't normally do snatches at 7AM.

Warm up clean and jerk- My body did not wish to do this. Went to 215# then called a day.

Warm up metcon.
Run 1 mile
30 ohs with 115#
150 dubs
30 sdlhp
50 ghd
50 box jumps-
21 or so min.

The run was 6:30ish. Felt good. Did my serenity prayer each lap making it light and easy. Ended up lapping everyone they were focused on the workout after the 1 mile run buy in.

Went to cheer on David at his beginners comp. At the comp did some wide grip strict c2b. Was a good day for it. About 40 reps of the.

Was a long day. Saw a new movie last night. Player 1 ready. Was cool.

Sunday - went to my meeting. Then off to my row, ring mu and glute ham raises. Ended up rowing about 5k total and did 28 mu and 70ish glute ham raises. Cleaned up the gym a bit.

Overall good weekend of training. Just want to have fun at the MQ and do my best for where I am.

If the wife and i lived in your area i would be your partner any day... i would get into your head and push you harder and being around you and your game would push me to the next level and above.

bit of a shame that....

Alex, yes I need some yelling and maybe even a slap on the back or face when I have the apathetic eyes on.

I would like to train with you also. Hehe.
