nectar of the gods

yes... honey. that golden, beautiful, delicious nectar. ive been taking it in my protein shakes pre and post workout. im not strict paleo, but i eat no bread, pasta, or rice (except for the occasional sushi roll )

im pretty lean and dont eat junk food. and honey is the sweetest thing in my diet. i sometimes add it to plain greek yogurt in the morning or at night.

i realize that honey is all fructose and glucose, so i was wondering if my indulgence may have negative affects on my physique.

my last kick was coconut water ( a liter a day) and before that almond butter (jar a day), but i have phased both of those out. the rest of my diet consist of Chicken breast, greek yogurt, eggs, green veggies, raw almonds, walnuts, and the occasional steak.

Re: nectar of the gods

There's no way to know other than giving it a try. Everyone is different.
If you're already lean and you have (what appears to be) a very clean diet, I'd be willing to bet that honey isn't going to cause any fat gain. Unless you start consuming it by the cupful, in which case you're body will probably tell you to stop pronto.
Also, honey is delicious. Enjoy it.

And here I thought this post was going to be about beer.

The only effect you might notice from eating honey, besides tooth decay, is improved performance.

Re: nectar of the gods

While I am being a chuckle head and using weight gainer shakes, honey is a staple otherwise to my post workout mix.
