Is there any reason I couldn't just use my Dynamax ball for ball slams? I'll prob try it tonight anyway, I'm just wondering what's the advantage of a D-ball.

You will probably bust your Dynamax ball very quickly. My understanding is that they are not made for that type of impact.

Thanks for the heads up on that, would have sucked if I tore up my Dynamax ball. Maybe I'll use a kettlebell j/k

That's great timing! I just sent them an email this morning asking how much a 20# was.

The response was "The 20 lb. ball is $84.95 and comes in 3 sizes, 8" volleyball, 9"
Strengthball-basketball and 10.6"

My question now is, what size to buy? What is in use at CFN or HQ?

We got our D balls from gill athletics. http://www.gillathletics.com/GillIte...px?FSID=TA1304}
We did damage one of our Dynamax balls when we first tried this drill. We have two 20# balls and a 12#. We're buying some smaller ones for our kids CrossFit program.

Jeff, which size did you buy on the 20# - 8, 9, 10.6?

Hey slam those dynamax balls all you want, they will hold up. Iuse mine against walls all the time and they haven't been hurt.

For the absolute answer on Dynamax give Jim a call at Dynamax, he will let you know how much impact they can take. And if you do talk to Jim make sure you listen to everything he says, he is a generous giving person of his time and experience. I have 3 dynas; 6lbs, 12lbs, 20 lbs

I use the 6lb for all high velocity throws as Jim recommends.

Hope this helps!

10.6” 20# and 9” 12# are where it’s at. I have personally made a Dynamax med ball puke confetti all over the floor (nothing about the construction or quality of the product, just my stupidity). And if it is not yours, the owner is ****ed... IMO the Dynamax m/b are way too nice to get primal on. Plus who would want to kill a Dynamax? Listen to Jeff, hook up with Gill athletics, buy a D-ball and "get some". You will not be disappointed…
