Re: alcohol and CF don't mix

I've found metcon to be totally impossible with a hangover.

LMAO! I couldnt even pull it off at the age of 21! I tried Nancy today after drinking this weekend and it was the worst CF experience ever.

This is exactly why i'm adopting the 5 on, 2 off schedule when I go back to school. I don't want to meet pukie *every* workout.

I have never figured out anything that goes with a hangover.

A couple of drinks is no big deal but drinking enough to feel like crap the next day is going to do you no good at any age

Which is why I quit drinking of any kind. Funny, I haven't missed it much.

Re: alcohol and CF don't mix

A friend of mine did a late morning workout with me after a long night of drinking. It wasn't Crossfit, but similar--a lot of hard, high-intensity bodyweight work. He was miserable. By the middle of it you could smell the cheap beer leaking out of his sweat and by the end he looked like he was going to die. It definitely got the booze out of his system but man did he hate it. I found it pretty funny.

Re: alcohol and CF don't mix

Last time I worked out with a hangover it was some god awful WOD featuring 500m rows and thrusters. I was veeeerrrrry close to seeing Pukie. He was taunting me all the way! Never again!

I'm lucky to be such a lightweight when it comes to drinking...doesn't take much to make me happy AND the aftereffects are all processed by the next morning.

Re: alcohol and CF don't mix

I find my hangovers are manageable when I drink water in between drinks and right before bed. (this means 1 beer, 1 cup of water, 1 beer, 1 water, and so on ... basically you drink half as much)

Heavy drinking and the resultant hangover makes it impossible for me to do MetCon and any MaxEffort will be 30-20% less than my last weight. Horrible. My mouth dries up and I can't even breath during metcon.
