Genius. "Meatza"

Genius. (WFS)

I so have to try making this. Will report back after I do.

Anyone else ever made anything like this before?

Ooh sure looks good. Never tried making it. Reckon the base would crumble though.

Re: Genius. "Meatza"

Saw a version that used pureed raw chicken with some seasonings as a "crust". I think he cooked it all together, rather than cooking the crust first.

Even looked like pizza

I made this last night. I'd post a pic if I knew how. I used ground turkey meat ,99% fat free. It was amazing.

Re: Genius. "Meatza"

So, my wife and I made this for dinner tonight. It was really good!

I used grass-fed ground beef for the "crust", and the toppings included red bell peppers, broccoli, summer squash, and onions. All the veggies were picked up at the farmer's market today. Local and organic.

Good eats for sure!

First pic is of the "crust" prior to going in the oven. The second pic is a slice of the finished product.

Re: Genius. "Meatza"

What kind of cheese did you use? Anything special or just store bought shredded cheese?

Did you pre-bake the crust before putting the toppings on, so that it'd be a bit more crispy and hold together?

I did pre-bake the crust. It took about 10 -15 minutes to pre-bake the crust.

We sauteed the veggies before putting them on the meatza.

Once the crust was pre-baked, and the veggie sauteed, we just put the toppings on, and stuck the whole thing under the broiler until the cheese melted, and was a little brown.
