Best all around sneakers for CF??

Hello again...I'm also looking for the best all around sneaker for CF. I'm currently looking at the Inov-8 F-lite 220's and 230's. Does anyone have any insight on them or alternative suggestions? I'd like to be less at < $100.

Thanks!

Just picked up a pair of Chuck Taylor Classics (hi-tops) for $30 at Famous Footwear. Hard to go wrong with that.

You could really do a search on this, it's been disussed 100 times. But you will see that most prefer VFF's, or Chucks. I'm VFF's.

"Ross" has flat soled Asics on sale for $20-25. I prefer flat Asics to Chucks any day. They're quite a bit lighter too. I have 4 pairs of Asics Onitsuka Tigers alone. They're real popular in CF community.

I do like VFF's too.

How is running in the VFF's though? I don't really like chucks much and I'd like something comfortable for cardio. Thanks for the replies.

Running in VFF's takes some getting used to, and you need to REALLY focus on ramping up the mileage slowly. Like, walk in them a couple hours the first week or so, then try a 400m run one day, rest, 800m run, etc. Ramping up too fast will cause some achilles tendonitis and could cause injury (because you're using muscles that your current shoes probably don't allow you to use).

They're cool shoes though.

Re: Best all around sneakers for CF??

As long as you're not planning on heel striking - VFF's are fine. It'll take a bit to adapt - google around & look what peeps say on how to get used to them.

I just ran a 8.5 km trail 2 weeks ago in them - they were awesome. Plus I've done plenty running wod's in them by now.

I actually decided after this past weekend when I ran that same trail in flat soled shoes to only run in VFF's from now & on. Just love the feeling. You do have to be a bit more careful & watch where you step - they protect the sole a good bit but it's not very pleasant to step on anything jagged/sharp (like roots, edges etc). But you get used to that quick & the ability to notice that while running goes up a good bit.

Ahmik - I have a pair of indoor soccer Asics (Copero I believe is the model). Love them!

Puma K Streets if I have to do any running in the WOD. If not, Vans Old Skools. I used to wear Chucks but I like the Vans a lot better, probably because they're made for a wider foot.
