And you will for a few weeks, and then you feel good, then great, then awesome. At least that's how it went for me, my wife and everyone I personally know who have done it, so take it for what it is.

Actually I kept at it for a couple months, and did lose some weight, but was always starving, always stalling on my lifts, and pretty worthless at rugby training.

When I added grains back in (mainly just rice and oats with breakfast and lunch. dinner is mainly "paleo"), all that changed.

I understand that I just needed to eat more "paleo friendly" carb and fat sources, but that just costs a fortune compared to rice and oats, and I have seen no negatives adding them back in.

That's the problem there, not the lack of grains/dairy.

Indeed. But the fact is, adding the grains (dairy is still very limited) back to my diet had no noticeable negative side effects, only positive ones. Like more energy, more strength gains, and saving money.

Similar thing can be said about smoking or drinking too much alcohol ~ makes you feel good ~ until one day your MD finds lung or liver cancer. just saying...

Wut?

I feel like pulling my Billy Madison quote out again.

First off, if someone quit smoking for a month, and started again, and claimed no negative side effect on their endurance, they are full of ****.

Second, anybody that drinks too much alcohol is going to feel like **** the next day.

Eating a cup of oats in the morning, and some rice with lunch, is not comparable at all to smoking and drinking.

I am inclined to agree with this statement. A cup of oats and smoking are not the same. In addition, one or two drink will not send you into liver failure. Reasoning such as this makes outsiders of our community scoff at us.

Not alcoholics. In fact, they will start feel like **** if they don't have alcohol the next day.

Hmmmmmmm. Who does that sound like?

Dirty Carb addicts and their preposterous 250-300g of carbs to support weight gain and energy output?

Re: The Difference Between Seeds & Grains?

Who says you need to be low carb because you don't eat grains? There are plenty of carbs to be eaten in fruit and tubers and whatnot.
