Re: How do you like your oats?

Last couple of days I've had oats microwaved with milk and peanut butter, and a bowl of scrambled eggs with tomato. Best 1200 calorie breakfast ever. Haven't quite got the guts to mix the 2 together like one of the above posters mentioned though.

By the sound of some of these replies, I might have to invest in some bigger bowls

Most of the replies coming seem to be sweet varieties, anyone tried any savory versions?

Re: How do you like your oats?

I throw them in my morning shake... 100% egg whites, protein powder, almond milk, natural peanut butter, 100% natural oats, a bit of water, maybe a banana and a touch of honey depending on the day

Put in the vitamix... mix until smooth... vitamix ftw

Re: How do you like your oats?

Straight up for me - oats + milk + microwave = breakfast. Oats are great in an apple crumble topping too!

Re: How do you like your oats?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what kind of oats do you guys use? instant, steel cut, rolled...?

I tend to go with a cup of instant oats, a cup of milk, a tablespoon of peanut butter, and a scoop of chocolate protein powder in the microwave for a minute and a half. It's an easy and quick breakfast.

Just plain rolled oats here.

Re: How do you like your oats?

Overnight Oats - probably the best breakfast food I have tasted. I really have to watch it with this - only have it every now and then.

Re: How do you like your oats?

I have oats pretty much every day - always rolled oats. I like a banana with mine but the recent cyclones has made bananas more expensive than gold here in Oz! I won't be having bananas for a while.....

Re: How do you like your oats?

I just use basic oats, and add peanut butter, chocolate whey protein and occasionally some dried cherries or brown sugar. Its fantastic.

Re: How do you like your oats?

Some mix-ins I like to add:
- Almond butter
- Apple butter
- Banana

And my all time favorite:
Canned (or fresh) pumpkin, pumpikin pie seasonings (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. They sell pre-mixed pie seasoning; just make sure you get one without added sugar), milk/cream, and just a touch of sweetener (honey, brown sugar, apple butter, etc).
To die for.

I haven't eaten oats in a while, but now I'm craving some...
