I guess those little old ladies used to do 22 inch box jumps and side jump overs when they were young. Thats why their ankles, hips, and whatever hurts now. I'm so glad I work out in my garage now.

I look at it like this: Stryker Medical is a good local company. I am going to buy some stock, then go on a rampage breaking hips. They need to replace them, Stryker sales go through the roof, I make lots of money and the local economy booms.

Who is with me?

(Lynne this is a joke)

David,

What's even funnier is when you say it, then they repeat themselves, only louder. It's great :-)

Doug, I laughed so hard I fell out of my chair.

Fortunately, I was able to get up.

Lynne,

your response is "the cat's pajamas" as my mama used to say.

I'll keep it in mind for the next time

This is slightly off topic, but to say that 5x5 squats and lunges followed by plyos is working out your legs is an understatement on par with saying that Neil Armstrong was a pilot. I think a more appropriate way of phrasing you opening line would read something like "so I'm at a big box gym today bent on totally annihilating every muscle fiber in my legs" or something like that.

for me it's a good workout.

The first part of the workout, the fear of being crushed by the weights gives me the strength to complete the reps and the fear of being injured motivates me to do each rep correctly (at my age I don't recover that quickly from an injury).

The second part of the workout, the jumping, the fear of catching a foot on the platform or slipping off the platform gives me the extra motivation to do the jumps correctly.

I stand by my line of: Really? 'Cause that's how they taught me to do it at Ninja school.

Then you immediately adopt a crouching pose with hands in 'karate chop' position. Shouting "hiyah!" at top of your lungs is optional.
